It is believed that after the Shimla Municipal Corporation elections, the party may announce the new president. Right now the BJP’s priority is the Shimla Municipal Corporation elections, which the party wants to win at any cost. After this, the BJP will start preparations for the Himachal Lok Sabha elections in the state and during this time the party can also get a new president.

BJP lost several times during Kashyap’s tenure

The BJP replaced Rajeev Bindal in 2020 and made MP Suresh Kashyap the new president of the party. The BJP had to face defeat in Himachal during his tenure. This includes the humiliating defeat of the BJP in 3 assembly and one Lok Sabha elections held in 2021.
